International Women’s Day: “Las sin sombrero” I 8 Mar 2021

In date 8 March 2021 from 4 to 5.30 pm the Unified Guarantee Committee in collaboration with the Compañía Ballet y Flamenco Mara Terzi will celebrate the International Women’s Day by proposing the Flamenco ballet, “Las sin sombrero”, to commemorate all socials, economics and politics conquests of women.

The exhibition intends retrace by the ballet, the history of an intellectual and artist women’s group born between 1898 and 1914. These women, known with the name of “Women without hat” due to their habit to appear in public removing their hat as symbol of rebellion towards the men’s supremacy, scandalous act to that period, were forgotten by the famous spanish generation of 1927. This particular act allowed them to express their beliefs and worries in a world which always forced them to be submitted to the men.

“Las sin sombrero” is an exhibition where music and ballet interweaving in a continuum changing of colours, sensations and emotions guide the spectator towards the imaginary fascinating and magical world of Flamenco dominated by dances more representative: Sevillanas, Guajira, Alegrias, Serrana, Farruca, Tango e Rumbas.

Red bench I 25 Nov 2020

Do you know why there is a red bench in Piazza Leonardo right in front of Politecnico?

It represents a space ideally occupied by the presence of women victims of violence.

The history of the red bench begins in October 2019, when we decided to participate at the initiative “Adotta una panchina”; we decided to use that space because it’s necessary that the Politecnico, like other universities, takes a firm stance against violence on women, actively fighting to raise awareness among its people.

Universities must be safe spaces, explicitely against sexism, machismo, racism or any other form of discrimination; places that allow students, PhD students, professors and every other member to freely express themselves and their ideas.

We all would rather pretend that these brutal acts of violence are no more, as if they are just things of the past, but unfortunately reality tells a different story. Milan is sadly no exception, despite what one would think: everyday many women experience horrible acts of violence, not always of the physical type: it is actually the case that it often takes the form of verbal and psychological abuse, sometimes subtle, sometimes more explicit.

Do not downplay and tolerate this kind of violence, learn more by reading the flyer below!

Nora – Beyond Silence | 5 Dec 2018

On the occasion of the November 25th anniversary instituted by the UN in 1999, we are pleased to invite you to the show “Nora – Beyond Silence” on Wednesday 5 December, 2.00 pm, Aula Castiglioni (ed B1 – V. Durando 10 / V Candiani 72).

You can subscribe to the show via This link.

NORA – Beyond Silence di Amalia Bonagura

The action takes place in the 48 hours preceding the final hearing of a trial for murder, in the living room of Guido, a defense lawyer intent on preparing his final address and the only male character on stage. On the stage, besides him, three generations of women, a grandmother, a mother, a daughter, connected not by blood ties, but by the story of one of them, Nora, and his death. The story of Nora slowly unfolds, from the happiness of a full and engaging love, to its gradual evolution that appears at the end so monstrous and terrible – yet imprisoned in the false bonds of “normality” – to be aroused in the younger character, Lucia, a strong sense of rebellion due to the inability to accept and justify the unacceptable and the unjustifiable.

Nora wants to involve everyone in her story and does not accept excuses. She found his voice after the silence of a life and now wants to tell: because she was there, because she knows, because she understood, because silence is silent. Why not happen again.
